Although I’ve been working with Bubble for about 4 1/2 years, I’ve stayed away from responsiveness issues because my app started out as an experiment solely for me and I could limit my page sizes based on the devices I use.
Now I have an iPad mini, and I need to learn how to be responsive all the way from my big screen down to the mini (1024X768). (I have a lot of pages designed specifically for phones.)
To start my education, I built a page (just a wireframe of sorts) with about seven groups that fill the page, with a floating group header. I realize that I really need a group containing all the existing groups and sitting directly on the page.
I know I can pretty easily build a new page, add the new group onto the page and then copy groups from the existing page into the new group. (In fact, that’s what I just did to ensure that it would work.) However, that’s a horrible mess of trouble if there are workflows involved.
And I’m thinking there must be lots of situations where responsive behavior just isn’t quite right, and solution is to insert a new group to contain existing groups, but there’s no easy way to insert a new group to contain them.
Am I missing something really basic?
BTW, I read all 649 messages in the announcement thread. My eyes were crossed and I was dizzy before finishing. One thing I came away with is that I’m very fortunate I waited for five months before diving in. It seems like a lot of “challenges” with the first beta version have been resolved. I just don’t know if I understand things well enough to know that there is an easy solution to my challenge.
I know there are a lot of ways to accomplish the same thing in the new responsive engine (and Bubble in general), so it may just be that I’m not looking in the right place.
Any help is appreciated.
