How to detect cursor position on editor?

Is there a way on how to detect the cursor position on an editor or multiline?

If not, how can I get a plugin made for this?

Can you post a screenshot of where you would like to detect the cursor? It is always possible to detect cursor location with javascript and there are free plugins that allow you to use it in your project.

So basically, i have a rich editor and whereever I point I would like to detect where the cursor position is on the editor so I can truncate 600 characters back to use sa input
