How to make workflows execute only "once"

Hey there,

I am trying to figure out how to make certain workflows only work “once”.

For example, when the user loaded the page for the first time.
I have the “do not show this again” but I cannot make it work.
I tried with “set state”, only when “user database was empty” as well as “backend workflows” using “user now” and “user before”.

Other examples are such as making certain posts work only once when user uploads content for the first time.

There are conditional workflows that when you create are automatically set to run just once and you have an option to change that to run every time
