Introducing: Flovocab

Hey everyone :waving_hand:t3: - I’m excited to launch Flovocab, built on Bubble. As I settle into Spain this has been one of my go-to’s for learning Spanish. (https://flovocab.com)

Flovocab is designed to bridge the gap between intermediate language learners and fluency level vocabulary. It reduces the feedback loop between learning and feedback, available 24/7.

Key Features:

:sparkles: - add or generate stories to learn words in context

:sparkles: - chat with AI for contextual learning

:sparkles: - improve recall and writing skills with AI

:sparkles: - play games with your new words to solidify learning

:sparkles: - install the phone app in homescreen through PWA

The stack:

:high_voltage: - Simple static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages for lightning fast Landing pages

:bubbles: - App on Bubble for powerful out of the box features and stability

:electric_plug: - Custom plugins for advanced functionality

Currently free to play here on https://flovocab.com

Looks great. One note is the immediate sign up request before ever get to start learning for free. I listened to an expert recently on the subject of giving a bit before asking for the sign up.

There was some psychological principle behind it, the name of which I can not remember, but in context to your app, it may be beneficial to let a user interact a bit before asking to signup even if the sign up is free.

Great feedback thanks @boston85719 !

Well…

from a marketing and copywriting standpoint, it could use some help.

There’s not one single image on the landing page… not even a screenshot or video

I also am not sure who you’re having a conversation with in your wording. Sounds like corporate speak to me. There’s nothing that sounds like a one-on-one talk with any certain person.

You’ve pretty much got feature, feature, feature, feature…

you should have something like a screenshot, an image, or a video, with an explanation, and repeat that.

People get excited about the benefits before they get excited about the features.

SHOW THEM, they learn quicker when shown than paragraphs of text that sound like you’re speaking to some corporate business meeting full of stuffy prunes. Your copy has zero emotion to it, and it’s been proven over and over again that emotional copy is what sells products.

Introduce someone.

Meet Sarah:

She moved to Spain six months ago.

She understands most conversations…

…until someone speaks naturally.

She knows thousands of words.

She just can’t recall them quickly enough.

That’s exactly what Flovocab is designed to fix.

Also…

You have no proof:

“For the first time, I actually remembered the vocabulary when speaking.”

Emma, learning Spanish

“I finally understand Netflix without subtitles.”

Bob

Anyway, I would drop about half the words and talk like you’re talking to someone face to face.

Design is pretty good. Just can’t see from your landing page how it’s different from Duolingo, etc., and can’t see any benefits that make it better than other platforms.

You need to do a much better job of selling your idea.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks @senecadatabase for taking the time - great feedback again!

I’ve added more personable language and demos - will wait on the testimonials once I have some real users haha.

Your homepage loaded really fast for me :+1:t2:- is that 100% native bubble or did you use a static page for the homepage?

Best

@asked111 the landing page is set up as a cloudflare page, these are super simple to setup and really fast.
