Brand new here and just signed up today. Looking to create some ideas I have for actual applications instead of just phone apps. Is this something bubble can do? Or is the primary focus on mobile apps?

Its the other way around. Bubble is primarily used for making web applications.
Definitely would echo @csblack comment about Bubble for web applications. The real secret sauce of Bubble is the ability to build backend logic (for web OR mobile) without writing code. Right now, the front-end tools in Bubble heavily favor a web application over mobile support.
