Is there a way to copy a portion of an expression?

Is there a way to copy a portion of an expression? I find that very often I want to copy the work I’ve already done, instead of entering the expression again from scratch. However, I often only want part of the expression, or I want to enter that expression as just one part of a new expression.

As far as I can tell, it is only possible to copy the entire expression, and paste it as the entire new expression. It would be extremely helpful if there was a way to just copy a selection, instead of the entire expression. Likewise, it would be extremely helpful to insert a copied expression into the middle of a new expression.

Is there a way to do this, or has any thought been given to implement this feature?

I see the following thread, but I think it could still be improved.

AYeah, that would be a huge QOL improvement. Even just having a palette of frequently used expressions might be helpful.

OR having a way to force a “More…” to appear at a given point. I’m often having to backspace from the end of an expression back to an earlier point that needs modification and then have to rebuild quite complex additional parts. Kinda kills the rapid prototyping buzz at times.

(Edited for many autocorrect errors. Geez, Siri!)
