Is there a way to pass information from a custom event to workflow item?

I have a custom event that does a couple things, including creating new thing called a Conversation. I’d like to use some of the info from that custom event in the same way I can use the “results” from other events. Is that possible?

To clarify, I’d like to use info from Step 1 in Step 2 without having to do a search.

I suppose you’ll need to have an additional step within your custom event to store results of step #1 into a custom state. And then use custom state as a data source for your subsequent steps outside of custom event.
