Login page will make or break your app

For a user to want to use your app, the app NEEDS SSO to login.

SSO Bubble app Sign Up goes through the web browser. That is fine! However:

Google works.

Microsoft does not.

Microsoft has the biggest userbase of work email accounts.
It is crucial for Bubble apps to have SSO to succeed.

Bubbles Microsoft SSO works for regular personal accounts. However, for work accounts, the token gets too large and users cant log in even with the browser. So people have created a custom workflow for Microsoft login for web apps. However, custom workflow does not allow the “Sign up with browser” with Bubble Native.

How can we make bubble understand the importance of SSO?

It is possible use a custom workflow and OAuth/Social Sign-in with native mobile. For this, you’d retire the API connector based OAuth flow and instead self-manage it. You can create the entire flow using individual requests in API connector and comparing the sub from the provider to the sub stored on the user, server side then if valid, return a magic login link to the client side. As for making this work with mobile, that’s simple. Create a /oauth page on your app that’s used for web and then use signin with browser and point the page to that oauth page, bubble emits an onLogin or smth of that sort as a param when it comes from mobile native, which u can use to your advantage as well. This is prob terribly worded lol, I’m tired, but happy to explain in detail if needed.

Hi Parthapatel, many thanks for your reply, but are you sure? Have you tested it for mobile?

I have done what you have described: the self-managed oauth flow for microsoft for my web app. I created the /oauth page and it works fine that way for the web app.

However, on Bubble Native, “Sign in with Browser” only works if it is connected to the “Sign in with social network” option. At least that is what I have experienced and also what Bubble support says.

Yup, here is a screen recording. You can set a custom page for sign in with browser, which is set to that custom oauth page.
