Those small changes that go unnoticed, but that help a lot.
Now we can visually identify the direction of the container layout.
This is actually terrible. Now I need to go through hundreds of elements and remove “Row” and “Column” from their names.
That’s a you problem.
Its a one off thing to rename for existing apps but very helpful going forward.
Collateral effect…
I really wish bubble had a “find and replace” feature… this would be super useful.
the search kind of works - but it takes a long time and inconsistently returns results in big apps. And I still have to manually change every result to the new value.
bulk edits in bubble are a pain when they shouldn’t be.
There are still some bugs related to element naming. For example, in some cases if you drop a reusable element named “Element 123” it will be named “Element 123 A”, in other cases it will remain as “Element 123” only. By “A” it is understood that maybe Bubble expects that you would possibly include a new element in the future that would be “Element 123 B”, so to differentiate them these automatic suffixes are created, the question is, why does this only happen sometimes and even when I am using a single element in that page/section?
Another thing that I’m not sure if it happened before the element tree was redesigned or only started happening after that, so, if you have a Reusable Element named “Element 123” and drop that element in 10 different places, if you just dropped it there and left it with the default name, but then went to the Reusable Element and changed its name, not all instances of it will reflect this name change. Mainly those instances where you may have “accidentally” clicked on the name of the element (it went into edit mode), but didn’t edit anything.
It seems that this applies to other similar cases like clicking to edit the name of an event, action, etc., but not editing it, will cause this problem of no longer reflecting the changes made to element name.
Regarding searching for elements, if you use “contains” to search for a specific element like a group, that contains “XYZ” in the name, in most cases the parent containers of that element will appear in the result even if they don’t have any reference to “XYZ” in the name.
