Why do the element names keep changing?

I have a perfectly fine element, I change the text field, and now the elements name is changed to whatever I just entered. Any way to not have the elements change on their own?

Hi there, @drfalken… I’m not sure what you mean by “a perfectly fine element,” but Bubble tries to be “smart” about naming your elements automatically until you change the name of the element yourself. Once you change it, Bubble will stop trying to name it for you. It’s actually because of the “smart” naming thing that I created my own naming convention for my elements, and changing the name of an element is literally the first thing I do when I add it to a page. If you go that route, your naming problems will be solved.

Ah ok – so once I name something bubble wont change it anymore? Makes sense!
