Ok, let me try.
okay let me do that
thank you so much, do i need to update the fields or i just leave it like that?
No problem. You can make the fields refer to the set state’s listing as well. I would recommend doing at a group level. If you have the group set to the saveChanges listing then every input will just say the parent groups Listing. That would make things simpler. Does that make sense? I can show you an example if need be.
lol please show me an example, your methods seem advance.
No problem.
okay, will this not have an effect on the RG displaying the updated listing?
and after doing this, no need to edit any fields on the make changes step right?
If you want to make sure you don’t change anything else, instead of deleting a step you can just add the steps instead. Just in case you have something else hooked up to it.
Edit any fields… do you mean the inputs?
yeah i meant the inputs
I think you have them set up correctly. Each are referring to the ‘parent listing’ so it should be fine. Just test it and see if it all works. If something isn’t being saved then you can check the input that is not saving and troubleshoot from there.
okay one last thing, do i have to change what happens to groups when the state is changed? usually i’d say when this state is that value this element is visible or not.
If they were showing up before, then you shouldn’t need to change anything. You can just do the show and hide like you were doing.
Does it work without the conditional?
yes i was using another state which is a number to hide and show, so no problem if i leave it like that?
Yeah, using a number to show and hide using set states is perfect. It doesn’t change that at all.
i just tested, everything works fine. thank you so much for your patience and a great teaching spirit, really appreciate it.
No problem! Happy it worked out! Two days is way too long to work on a problem, I can understand the frustration. Keep up the good work!
Hope that helps!
