When removing social login options [‘google’, ‘twitter’, etx] from the wallet connect modal, it no longer works.
and,
When “including” social logins such as [‘google’], it returns with untrusted origin.
Could you please help out on the underlying issue here?
On your demo page, you do have social logins and the error is also present with your social login returns. There is nowhere to place an authentication return on your plugin or on the walletconnect (aka https://reown.com/) dashboard.
We tried to reproduce the issue you described on our end but were unable to. To help us investigate further, could you please ensure that you’re using the latest “1.43.0” version and let us know if the problem still occurs?
Additionally, can you please share details such as screenshots or a screencast showing how you’ve set up the plugin element, along with the problem you see in the pop-up. This will greatly help us in understanding and addressing your concern.
Also on our demo page the socials are showing up correctly, could you please also check it and let us know how it looks like for you?
Thank you for your message and the details provided.
Upon inspection, we noticed as well that logging in with social accounts triggers an “Untrusted Origin” message. We’re checking with our development team to determine the cause and will update you as soon as we have more information.
However, when we removed the social login feature, we didn’t observe any issues as reported by you. Could you please clarify what exactly you mean by “the Modal no longer works or appears”? This will help us better understand the situation and investigate further.
We’ve tried removing all social options from the input, and they simply no longer appear in the pop-up, however, the wallet connection itself is functioning correctly on our end.
To better understand what’s happening on your end, could you please share additional details such as screenshots or a screencast showing how you configured this element, the issue you’re facing, and the result you’re trying to achieve? Also, please check your browser console for any error messages there.
This information will help us pinpoint your concern and investigate further.
Ok. Show me an editor i can see and a preview i can test without the socials in it and the modal working. And the issue without google untrusted origin working correctly.
I’m paying for this plugin and it’s not working. Simple. I’ll switch to the other company if this isn’t resolved. Don’t be pushing half made stuff.
We have received some additional details from the development team, and it appears there have been slight changes in the library that are causing both the “Untrusted origin” message and the pop-up not to open in your case.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our development team is currently investigating, and we’ll update you as soon as we have more information.
The issue with WalletConnect socials is still under review by our development team as they work to identify the cause and determine the best solution to be implemented. We will inform you as soon as there are any news or updates regarding the concern.
Thanks for your understanding. If you have any questions, please let us know.
Yes, we’ve already found a solution for the second issue, where the element doesn’t appear if the socials field is empty. For the other issue, we’re actively working with the library creators to review some aspects of the “socials” functionality and will update the plugin once everything is working correctly. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s available.
You’re indeed right, correct that the concern with “Untrust origin” may take some time to be fully addressed with the library. Regarding the issue with the modal not opening—good news: we’ve just updated the plugin to the latest version (1.44.0), where we’ve ensured everything runs smoothly with the pop-ups.
Could you please update the plugin on your side, test it out, and let us know if everything is working smoothly?
We just tested the demo of the plugin and when you press google sign-in, it goes to a dead page opening. (about:blank) on all socials.
Also, on mobile, while it has the wallet option for Phantom, it opens Phantom but doesn’t trigger anything while the site is still waiting for feedback from Phantom.
