can a calendar have more than one data source or is it limited to one?
You can merge multiple searches of your database. “Do a search for xyz: merged with Do a search for abc” As long as the data types are the same.
You can also use conditions to change the source.
Types meaning text, date, internet, user, etc? Thanks. I didn’t want to have to create multiple cloned pages.
Yes, you’ll have to tell the calendar what type of data it should expect, so whatever your merged searches are, they should be that type. Yes, type being any “Thing” you’ve created in your database.

Thank you. It’s sort of coming together. 
Please explain it in detail. step by step. I dont understand it. I habe 2 Datatypes: birthdays, holidays. every datatypes has 2 fields: Text (text), Date (Date).
Now I want to display data coming from 2 different datasources (2 Datatypes) in only 1 calendar.
