I had to realize that you can’t move the cursor by arrow keys in an input field. How can I solve this problem?

Perhaps I’m misunderstanding, but I’m able to move between characters in an input field with the left and right keys.

That’s exactly what I mean, but it doesn’t work for me anymore. I can no longer use the arrow keys to navigate the cursor between the letters. What could be the reason for this?
