In the Air Chat & Messaging Pro plugin, each user is uniquely identified not by their name, but by their unique ID (usually the User's unique ID in Bubble’s database).
So even if two users share the same name, they are treated as different users because their unique IDs are different.
If you’d like to ensure uniqueness based on other fields (like email or username), you may need to adjust your logic accordingly in your database or workflows.
