P2P (WebRTC - Without third party services) Unlimited Video calls & Text chat - Looking for Beta Testers

We didn’t receive enough feedback to see if it will be worth the invested time.
Currently, we are focused on other things but consider doing it in the future.

hello, do you know if this plugin is working on ios mobile devices??

Hi @elodanielshop! I haven’t tried the p2p plugin but the Daily video conferencing and chat plugin works on ios mobile devices if you’re looking for video or audio. Happy to answer any questions if you have them about integrating with Daily. There’s a quick how-to here.

Hi
When you say text chat, do you mean SMS phone chat?
Thanks, Mark.

Text chat means normal chat like facebook messnger or whatsapp for example

Hey, @ezdev,

When will this plugin be out of beta?

Thanks in advance :slightly_smiling_face: :computer:

Is there an open source version so that our team could work on adding those features (conferencing; more than 2 users)?

Hello, is it possible to full screen the video? Haven’t figured out from the demo.
Thank you

is conferencing working now?

I’m using the plugin, but the audio quality is very bad. Because when I share video or audio that is on one of the peers I would like the quality to be maintained, but it gets really bad.

Since it is a P2P connection, the quality of image and audio doesn’t depend on the plugin but on the hardware and network connection of both users.

Hey, @ezdev,

Any updates?

Thanks in advance  :computer:

Would it be possible to connect the live calls capability and/or sms with Twilio?

@ezdev - Is this plugin offline? Demo and editor page are not reachable anymore

Hi @klaas.vanhoeck1
I’m the new dev of this plugin.
The link to demo from this thread is outdated, please use this one:

I’ll publish later a new forum thread with updated links

By the way, we have 2 new related plugins:

Hi Gochain, cool plugin.
My issue is when a user drops out from a meeting.
It seems like if user1, “ID issuer” drops out, the P2P is broken and the ID issuer needs to connect to your server and get a brand new fresh ID that he then can share again.
But I read earlier in this thread that a user ID could be saved to a user.
Is that true, that a user can use a previously created ID all the time as he connects to your server?

Hi there!

Use the database to link users by their most recent ID. So when a new ID is generated, save it in user db.
This way, if you lose connection or refresh the page, you won’t have to manually find a new ID. Just choose the same user again, and their saved ID from the database will be used for the connection.
It’s like having a friends list in a messaging app. You don’t need to know their IDs; they’re already saved in your list, and you just pick who you want to connect with from there.

If you need further help, let me know.

Thank you, now it’s working well from computer to computer.
I can only get it working with the ipad or iphone if I use firefox on the macbook. Chrome does not work when calling the ipad.
And I can’t find how to make the background blurry :face_with_monocle:

Hey I think you are in the wrong forum thread, this thread is for an older plugin that doesn’t have this feature.
Are you referring to P2P Video Conference plugin or P2P Webinar plugin?
If so, let’s continue the discussion in that forum thread
