Hi @sebastianymail - we’re going to be doing a webinar on the VideoChat plugin sometime next week. For more information, head to https://www.meetup.com/Bubble-NYC/. We’ll be providing more details shortly
Thank you! Looking forward to it.
Hey @sam8, have you had any luck replicating the issue I’m seeing w/ the video and link I sent you?
Cheers!
Al
Thanks for the tutorial! I was able to install the plugin appropriately and feed in my Secret / Auth Token. However, I’m now having trouble using the actions within the plugin. Seems that the only action I may use in a workflow is “End a Room for All”. Any suggestions on a fix for this problem?
When I share my screen with another the user, the video becomes different. For example, before the share I can see myself and the other user but when I share the screen I can see myself and my screen, but not they other user. Any idea how to fix this issue?
Will you share recording of this webinar? I missed it because I had had incorrect date in calendar
I thought it was today.
Has anyone actually gotten this plugin to do anything interesting, or used it in a real way? Can you share how you’ve done it? Keep banging my head against a wall.
I am in the middle of work with this plugin, works fine but requires a lot of manual work and I still don’t how it will work on mobile. I can share something when I am done.
There are clearly limitation brought up by Brian in one of the previous posts. You can overcome them by chanching things manually.
Edit:
This is how it works so far in my app https://we.tl/t-gh9G2O0xGS. Still requires some work but I am getting there.
Now I am working on mobile. Hopefully I can implement it here
This plugin does not seem to support mobile phones. it only works on computers. I was for this plugin to work on phones. let me know if you find a solution.
It is so simple. What you need to do first is to setup a twilio account. you would get all the necessary credentials. Then in order to connect two different users you would need to generate a random string and save it in the database to grab the string later on. Once you want to connect two users you would need to grab the saved string from the database and then attach the string to the link. Then when “page is loaded” grab ID from the link. Remember that one user must create the room and the other user must join the room. “join the room” is the same as the create the room when it comes to “grab ID from the URL”
how did you get on with this? ![]()
FYI: I tested this plugin on Safari on a Mac and there it did work.
Yeah, but unfortunately it does not work on mobile phones. I can assure you this. I have tried to connect my iphone and my laptop but it did not work. The video does not even appear on the mobile screen.
also another issue appears when a user shares his screen. Basically, when this happens, the user who shared his screen won’t be able to see the other user.
Damn! I made a mistake. I meant I tested it on my iPhone with Safari.
And it worked.
interesting. It might have been my phone then. It was an IPhone 7, but I will definitely try it with iPhone 11. Thanks for sharing that with me
It works on mobile but It’s not what you may expect. The biggest issue is with responsiveness. It’s also a clunky plugin. Sometimes, like 1/10 times it doesn’t work even on desktop, you cannot see joining user and other minor issue may appear.
My screens from mobile
Hey there, sorry for not being clear (it’s a long thread and you probably missed my previous conversations). I had gotten the basics working. The problem is actually getting windows to be usable, responsive, fit within a screen size, etc. It’s a mess, almost unusable from that perspective IMO.
I am facing following issues while using Twilio Video chat plugin:
- Not able to do full screen mode chat on any device(both PC and Mobile). How to enable it?
- During the preview, the Video element is not showing the complete frame captured by my webcam, instead it is showing only a part of the frame while the user connected with me (through mobile) is able to see my complete frame in his mobile. That mobile user is able to see his complete frame in his preview screen.
- In full screen mode, will I be able to see myself (of course, apart from the other user with whom i am chatting) in the small floating screen as is done during duo call? If yes, then how?
Please help!
