Property editor redesign (beta) is here!

Got the same error

It’s the first 24h since the beta release, I think it’s fair if the team is heads down going through bug reports, performance reports, etc.

I understand where you are coming from but also keep in mind that just because Mike isn’t directly here it doesn’t mean the team is not getting all this feedback

I love the fresh design but it’s missing 2 things.

  1. the Add/Edit workflow button

  2. Make first - Next - Make last buttons to move the elements on the page is missing

have you tried the + button by Workflows, on the interaction tab?

Agree on this. I couldn’t find States at first — was naturally looking for it in the tabs and eventually saw the button.

Second this… please let dynamic expressions wrap.

Hi @fede.bubble ,

I did, but just tried it again and didn’t see the icon to take you to the workflow tab.

Yesterday i clicked the + button and it wasn’t taking me to the workflow tab.

I can live with this and clicking the button to go the workflow tab

Also was looking for this and could not find it

right, we have this feature on the interaction tab, but it sum up the real problem of this new UI, we have to click so muck .

click to create/edit something, but also click to view ! both on the visual editor and and the wf editor.

yes UI is better, information structure sounds better, but UX is absolutely horrible. when you have to click just to view the first level of information, there’s a problem.

the current ui (or old ..) was a bit ugly, at least old school, but we can see directly information.

And except that we can now view the wf directly on the visual editor (do’t know yet if it improves something) I don’t see any new features (dynamic width or height form example).

And one seems to have disapeared, not having a fixed column on the right, when you have a wide screen, you don’t want to move the mouse ans eyes always on the right.

@mike_pacnw Another suggestion is to move Content as its own tab and rename it Data

If the Custom States list can display a comprehensive list of all Custom States on a single page, navigating to the element that appears when clicked would be fantastic.

So far, aside from the many issues reports, the biggest takeaway from my quick test-drive, along with all of the chatter here and on several other pro communities: We should have gone from doing a task with X clicks to X/3 clicks but instead have gone to X^3 clicks. That’s moving in the wrong direction. This build should have accommodated the mouse-huggers but also allowed power users to be super productive by staying on the keyboard/using KB shortcuts most of the day.

Other’s have shared what I think mostly, but I would just like to put this front and center; I hope others share this feeling:

Please don’t join the other App Builder’s in the sanitization of the UI, ADD COLOUR.

Imagine how easy it would be understand things like Properties (and their icons) at a glance if those icons were coloured!

You can add a workflow from the Interaction tab on the new editor:

One thing I’ve noticed about the new editor is that the whole page load time and interaction time when clicking around is much faster. That’s a huge deal for me and makes me pretty bullish on the feature.

Note: I had to disable Codeless Love extension to see any speed gains. I don’t think it works well with the new editor beta yet.

No, it’s too hidden. It should be somewhere more accessible. Not hidden in another tab.

You can press Cmd/Ctrl + K to add a new workflow for the highlighted element without using any menu.

Also, the reason they put it on a separate tab is so they could bring some context from the workflow into the Design tab, reducing the need to switch back and forth to see what it does.

It’s not great for Bubble’s reputation around new updates when I had this exact fear and the delivered on it.
:backhand_index_pointing_down:

Have you checked how far K key is from Ctrl key? We are devs, not pianists.
Thats not convenient at all.
The button should be brought back

I am generally happy with where these changes are headed. Yes, it will take some getting used to where everything is, but I will adapt.

However, not being able to “Add all fields” is a deal-breaker for me. It is a massive productivity killer.
