Just sharing a tip that really changed the way I work…
After I started recording videos before pushing my work to QA, I’ve seen amazing results:
- Minor bugs are even less frequent.
- Identifying flaws or inconsistencies before pushing to QA.
- Way less work from the QA team.
- Seeing opportunities for improvements earlier.
- Avoiding biases.
It’s like using a different part of the brain.
I remove myself from the work to be more like an observer for a while.
Anyone with the same experience?

Yeah, it’s like how stuff only breaks when you demo it. I’ve found myself recording a delivery video then finding a bug that makes me fix and re-record!

Yep, it s been one month now I m using this technique and quite often I restart recording the loom ! Pushed this as a good practice to all dev I m working with, better quality of delivery.
I also asked QA to record a video of their test, so if somthing goes wrong, I can better see context, and it makes them do better tests.
This is the demo effect!

I have a theory that there are things that only break in the demo

Loom is an amazing partner for the team.
Making comments in specific parts of the video is also really helpful.
But to me, the thing about videos is that is solidifies an async culture.
I’m not against meetings, but “there are meetings that should be a video”.

Yes. It’s why architects put blueprints up on a wall and view them side by side with the customer. It’s a different view…
Coincidence: I’m an architect!
This is eating, no, pre-tasting your own dog food.

I don’t re-record, I mention it in video to client and state this will be fixed by the time you test. I hate setting up recordings, and usually for me, the stuff breaks at the end of the demo.
I usually press pause on the video, fix the bug, and then hit record again… so it has that magical one-click fix feeling for whoever is watching
And I can say “boom, solved” when I start again, which I love to. hahah

That is better than my approach. I don’t re-record so that it feels like fast turn around, but magical one-click is better than fast turn around
