Repeating Group more than one column

I have been experiencing an issue for a couple of weeks now, and am starting to feel it is a bug as it is repeating itself.

When trying to use a multi-file uploader to upload images and then display them in a repeating group, the repeating group despite having in editor a setting of 2 columns, only one column on page view is seen

Any ideas as to what might be the reason for this besides it being a bug?

Seems like I needed to click fixed width on the Repeating group element

Don’t really remember that ever being a necessity before
