Schedule API Workflow on a list takes a while to process

I am using Schedule API WF on a list to create a thing in my database, I am scheduling 7000 items but it takes 4 hours to process all of it. (I am also running calculations). Is there any way to make this faster and will not destroy my WU?

I am using Professional Plan

If you upgrade to the new WU based plans you’ll see around 10x speed improvements on Schedule Workflow on a List.
