[Search console] /index : Duplicate, submitted URL not selected as canonical

Hi there,
In my Google Search Console, my /index pages is considered as:

“Duplicate, submitted URL not selected as canonical”
And then excluded of crawls. I guess it’s good as I don’t want a duplicate of my homepage, but I guess it’s not a good signal for Google (SEO-wise). Is there a way to fix that?
I’ve thought of a 301 redirection of /index towards the home, but not ideal I’d say.
Seems that we should specify /index as a canonical?

What are your thoughts on this?
