Search for a thing in a list, and return it's item # in the list?

Hey friends,

I have a workflow that accepts a “story paragraph” which is an item, and it also accepts the “story” which has a field that accepts a list of story paragraphs. In this workflow, is there a way to search the list, and then return what place the item “story paragraph” is in the list of items?

Oh, my computer is in grayscale, and apparently color is the only indicator of link in this forum.
