SearchBox default value

Looked this up and found a similar question but really can’t get to these same results.

Try to default the value using dynamic value) in Search box

Hi All, I have a search box that is linked to a database to showcase all the countries the user can select from. After saving, and when going back to the same screen, I am try to default the value to his initial selection. But can’t seem to do it - Can assist? I am using a SearchBox to let the user choose a company name, which open creation, creates a company name if one doesn’t;t exist.

I would like to show that SearchBox with a value from the database when editing that record.

Is it not possible? The default options don’t seem to let me do that.
