Sending email to a user in backend workflow (privacy rule issue)

I’m trying to send an email to a user in a backend workflow.

In the “To:” field, I’m using the thing’s creator’s email.

But, I’ve noticed in the logs that it’s blank and the email is not being sent. I’ve verified and there is in fact a creator of that thing and an associated email. And the “thing” is being found in that workflow.

I believe this is because of privacy rules.

How can I configure privacy rules in this scenario if that’s the problem? I don’t want to allow “everyone” to have access to a User’s email, of course.

Hi there, @alex.pethick… have you tried checking the box on the backend workflow to ignore privacy rules when running the workflow?
