Text input issue in element properties window within editor

Hi, im trying to use the Run Javascript action but im having a difficult time writing the code. the text editor is difficult to work with.
writing code in the Rich text Editor is painful, tab-spaces doesn’t function. is there a method of enabling this?

is there a way to resize the width of the element property tab in the editor so that text entry fields are wider to support large amount of text?

this works great not sure why is functionality is not included in the editor by default.
