Hello everyone, I would like to know if using the Optimize application option (available in Settings > General > App file management) really improves performance as shown in the popup after analyzing the application.
I am asking this because I’ve tried to use this option countless times, when I can open the popup (most of the time I can’t because I get an error on the page), but when I can open it, if I select something to remove and hit the button, the page crashes, so I need to reload the page.
It is rare to be able to complete the operation, but in these rare cases only when I select 1 item.
It’s clear that items have a certain category that differentiates them, so why not let us select the category we want to display/search. Also, why such a small popup to display a huge list of items?
I know many users might say, “it’s lack of memory”. Well, I don’t believe that’s the case, I work with 32GB of RAM, everything is going well, except this specific action.
Can anyone tell me something about this? Do you use this option often? How has this been for you?
@fede.bubble , do you have anything to share about this?
It doesn’t work on very large apps. I assume this is because all issue checking is done by the client, and it required loading every page, element and workflow in the entire app which is too much to handle. Some apps will fail on my 8GB RAM laptop, so I try on a 32GB RAM desktop and it doesn’t work.
Hey @georgecollier, returning to this subject, does this mean that there is no solution for these cases at the moment?
Could you tell me the real impact of this type of optimization in terms of performance and speed? Any big differences I should worry about not being able to do this?
Same here. I contacted Support and they stated they can delete files (unused images, elements, etc.) to optimize the app for me manually. Then they ask me what files do I want deleted which was confusing.
I think they wanted me to go through each item on that list and give it to them, way too tedious and time consuming.
