One last question. After removing email confirmation as part of sign up process, If I were to send an email to all the users who experienced this frustrating sign up problem and inform then to try again, will they be able to sign up with the same email?

How do i make sure they are able to continue with the same email?

Probably easiest just to delete them from the database… then let them sign up again. Or I guess you could get them to reset their passwords.

This is frustrating. Is there any plugin to ensure email integrity on the sign up form? I worry that after removing the email confirmation, some users can sign up using one time web generated emails

I’d stick with email confirmation if you’re worried about that.

If the email was not sent to the users, how were they signed up in the first place?

They are signed up as soon as they supply their email address and password…

The email confirmation just changes their email confirmed status to yes.
