I just tried it out. Feels way way way too good to be true. Excited to hear some input from other Bubblers as this plugin feels like a cheat-code compared to all of the other video-chat implementations out there.

A few Q’s

  1. What’s the limit of users per conference?
  2. What’s the limit of conferences per bubble app?
  3. How is this sustainable? Who’s paying for the TokBox subscription?

Anyways, ZQ is seriously pushing the needle in terms of what can be possible through Bubble, especially for non-technical founders trying to get their startups off the ground. Props to them tbh.

Hi @drixxon !

Thanks for reaching out and for your kind feedback

We do really strive to make user’s life easier and your feedback is extremely important to us to make things more efficient :slightly_smiling_face:

Regarding our questions:

In a scenario where all participants publish and all participants subscribe to all streams from all other participants, a fully meshed multi-party video session, OpenTok cloud can support up to 55 participants. Please note that this number would be severely limited by the ability of your end-device to receive, decode and render such a large number of streams simultaneously.

Here is a link for reference: https://support.tokbox.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029413432-How-many-participants-are-supported-in-a-session-#:~:text=Rama%20Ganesan&text=In%20a%20scenario%20where%20all,support%20up%20to%2055%20participants

As per a fact, it’s unlimited, but should be taken into consideration that the device resources and bubble are limited, meaning that Bubble itself consumes a lot of resources, and connecting a lot of Tokbox Chats will result in overloading the app. So it is undesirable to create a lot of conferences on a single page. :slightly_smiling_face:

As in all video chat plugins sustainability depends on the network connection, devices resources, OS, and of course on plufin/workflow settings. But in this case, it is a very easy plugin to use.
For Tokbox subscription pays the one whose keys are used in plugin settings.

Once again thanks for your kind words and if you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us!

Cheers,
ZQ Team

@levon Can this work (with modifications, because without the answer is no) under a wrapper when used as a native app for iOS or Android?

Hi @greenacornstudios, thanks for your question.

Allow us to check this internally and come with feedback asap

Hi @greenacornstudios, thanks for your patience.

Unfortunately, so far the Tokbox plugin is not working under a wrapper when used as a native app. Sorry about that

As an alternative, allow to suggest checking the Agora plugin capacities: Agora Streaming & Video Conferencing Plugin for Bubble | Zeroqode.
if it might fit your project requirements.

In case any other plugin-related questions will appear, just drop a message  we’ll be glad to help.
