Tracking Content Engagement per User

Evening,

I’m doing a social media platform. is there a non-invasive way i can track when a user views a post?

I don’t want to have workflows firing off every second if it’s going to make their app hot. How does instagram track your every move without it cluttering the performance?

Each post on our site obviously has a unique ID and is served via Repeating Group vertical, and Singular Group, Floating, sometimes.

If it’s a tiktok style video feed, how can i keep users from seeing the same video again and again?

Servers, plus billions of dollars in funding and hundreds of developers

I see the same stuff popping up on my feeds, so I don’t think any social media site is doing a great job at that. You would likely need to have a data field that lists the posts seen or users who have seen it…neither approach is great based on bubble limitations of 10,000 items in a list of things, nor with WU pricing.

Sadly, with WU pricing a social media site is not something to build on Bubble if you need to track engagements, as that is just too costly, and social media sites are monetized only through increased engagement via advertising. No startup social media site built on Bubble will have the financial runway to achieve success in my opinion.

I see people use the Google Analytics plugin built by Bubble
