Unique months from date values - repeating group

Hi,
I need some help here.
I have a payment table that collects payment dates.

I have created a repeating group that displays all of these payments.
I also have a dropdown field that displays all the payment dates.

Ive tried grouping and also using the unique elements but the payment dates still repeats.

and when i select the months, the repeating group goes blank.

Please help me.
