We just released a huge update to Dropzone Ultimate (Pro), focusing on speed and user experience.
We noticed that users hate browsing through folders to find a screenshot they just took. So we fixed it.
WHAT’S NEW IN 2.0?
1. Paste-to-Upload (The Game Changer) You can now paste images directly from your clipboard!

User takes a screenshot → Clicks the page → Presses Ctrl+V.

The image is instantly added to the queue, resized, and uploaded.

2. WebP Auto-Conversion Save storage costs and improve page load speeds.
- Enable Convert to WebP and the plugin transforms heavy PNGs into lightweight WebP files client-side (before uploading).
3. Minimum Dimension Validation Stop users from uploading low-quality blurry images.
- Set a Min Width (e.g., 1024px). If the image is too small, it gets rejected with a clear error message.

Drag & Drop Reordering Building a product gallery or an image slider? Users can now simply drag and drop the uploaded file cards inside the dropzone to reorder them! The plugin instantly updates the Bubble state (list of URLs), meaning you can save the exact visual order straight to your database with zero extra workflows.
Smart Document Previews (PDFs, Docs, Zips) Uploading non-image files usually looks terrible in standard uploaders. We built an internal engine that detects file extensions and generates beautiful, crisp SVG icons for PDFs, Word Documents, Spreadsheets, Videos, and ZIP files. Your document management dashboards will look incredibly polished.
Mid-Upload Cancellation Ever accidentally dropped a massive file and had to wait (or refresh the page) to stop it? Now, while a file is uploading, the remove button turns into a dynamic “Cancel” action. Clicking it instantly aborts the upload and clears the queue, saving bandwidth and preventing frozen browsers.
Seamless Dark Mode Sync No more messy Bubble conditionals on the element! We added a new is_dark_mode dynamic field. Just pass your app’s dark mode state (yes/no), and the dropzone will instantly swap to your custom Dark Background and Dark Border colors, adjusting all text contrast automatically.
What’s new in V4?
In-Browser Cropping: We’ve integrated a beautiful, dark-themed modal. Users can now crop their avatars (1:1, 16:9, or freeform) before the file even touches your database.
Privacy-First EXIF Extraction: Extract GPS coordinates, Dates, and Camera Models from original photos! The best part? Because we process the image via HTML5 Canvas, the original EXIF data is completely wiped from the final file, protecting your users’ privacy from downloaders!
Smart Video Thumbnails: Uploading an MP4? The plugin instantly grabs a frame from the 1st second and uses it as the UI thumbnail. No more generic video icons!
NEW Native Mobile Element (Beta): Building a native app with BDK or web-views? We’ve added a dedicated Mobile Dropzone Element that handles responsive height, Dark/Light modes, and file limits perfectly on mobile engines.
Base64 Engine: It reads the file locally and instantly outputs a Bubble-ready Base64 string, so you have complete control over how and when to upload it to your database via your own external “Save” buttons.
