US-Based Bubble Developer Needed – Take Over Existing Marketplace Build – Paid Project

I’m looking for an experienced US-based Bubble developer to take over development of an existing web app and get it through a functional beta launch.

The platform is PeerRate, a two-sided peer-to-peer marketplace with additional functionality around transactions, user reputation, negotiated offers/terms and payments. I don’t want to publicly post the entire business model, but I have a detailed functional specification that I can share with the developer I select.

The app is already in rough-draft form in Bubble. The basic UI, user accounts, marketplace, listings, dashboards and branding have been started. I’m not looking for someone to simply design pages — I need someone who understands Bubble well enough to build the actual backend functionality and finish the application.

Current scope includes buyer/seller accounts, listings, offers and counteroffers, transaction states, buyer/seller dashboards, reputation/rating logic, Stripe/Stripe Connect integration, automated payment workflows, contextual messaging, notifications, admin controls, privacy rules, fulfillment/disputes, responsive design and final beta testing.

I already know how I want the platform to function and have documented it in detail. I need someone who can take that direction, build it correctly, and work through the technical decisions with me where necessary.

I’m specifically looking for someone who is:

  • US-based
  • Experienced with Bubble beyond basic website development
  • Comfortable taking over an existing Bubble project
  • Experienced with backend workflows and APIs
  • Ideally experienced with Stripe Connect/marketplace payments
  • Able to show Bubble applications they personally built
  • Communicative and available for calls/screenshares

This is paid work and I’m ready to get started. I’m open to hourly or milestone-based arrangements, but I want to hire someone who can actually take ownership of the development process and potentially stay involved as PeerRate grows.

The Bubble app, Stripe account, domain and all project assets will remain under my ownership. Developer access will be provided through the appropriate collaborator permissions.

If interested, DM me your location/time zone, Bubble experience, examples of applications you’ve built, experience with Stripe/marketplace applications, rate, and current availability.

Hey @pippen429 :waving_hand:

All of our developers are US based. We would be happy to have a chat to see if we might be a good fit. We have been using Bubble since 2016.

Hope to talk with you soon!

Hey @pippen429 , sent you a DM!

Hello, I build my own bubble bike sharing app with +7000 monthly users.

So, super familiar with stripe, user accounts and especially API as I build my dedicated server where the bikes speak TCP and bubble speaks with the server through API.

Right now +25.000$/month with the bike sharing

I see that you’re using Vercel at the moment with a design that could be easily improved.

I can create the design for free, and if it works. Let’s jump into making it with bubble.

About the price, would need more info about what’s done or not right now.

Best

Hi, I’m interested in the PeerRate project.

One thing to clarify upfront: I’m not physically US-based. I’m based in Ecuador, but I own AliceLabs LLC, a US software company registered in Wyoming.

We build custom software and AI systems, including marketplaces, payment flows, APIs, AI agents and production infrastructure. One of our main projects is MarketNow, a trust/security infrastructure for AI agents, where we’ve built the backend, APIs, MCP integrations, identity/trust verification, security scanning, payments and automated workflows.

We also have several other production projects involving AI agents, RAG systems, WhatsApp automation, e-commerce, custom SaaS and web applications.

For PeerRate specifically, the parts that caught my attention are the marketplace logic, buyer/seller flows, offers and counteroffers, Stripe/Stripe Connect, transaction states, reputation, messaging, notifications and admin/permission system. That’s much closer to the kind of custom software we build than simply designing Bubble pages.

If the US-based requirement is absolutely mandatory, I understand. But if you’re open to working with a US LLC whose development team is based internationally, I’d be happy to look at the current Bubble build and specification and tell you honestly what I think needs to be finished for beta.

If useful, I can also show you some of the systems we’ve already built.

Hi,

I will answer your list in order, starting with the one where I do not match, so you can decide quickly.

Location and time zone: I am in Central European Time, not US-based. In practice that gives full overlap with US mornings through early afternoon Eastern, and I hold calls and screenshares in that window every week with US clients. If US-based is a hard requirement for you, I understand, and I would rather say it in the first line than waste your time.

Bubble experience: 9 years and 120+ delivered products. Backend workflows, API integrations, privacy rules and payment systems are my daily work, not the page-building end of Bubble. Taking over half-built apps is a regular part of what I do, and my first step is always to read the data model before touching anything, because in an inherited app most bugs are structural.

Applications I personally built:

Two-sided marketplace connecting buyers with providers, offers and transaction flow between the two sides.
https://app.bikekey.com/
20,000+ paying users on Stripe, payments at real scale.

50,000+ users with strict privacy rules and role-based data separation, on the App Store.

Stripe and marketplace experience, with the three decisions I would want to make early on PeerRate, since they shape everything else in your spec:

The transaction should be a state machine with an immutable event log. Every offer and counteroffer is its own record referencing the one it answers, the accepted terms are frozen at acceptance, and every state change is timestamped and attributed. When a dispute arrives, and in peer-to-peer marketplaces it always eventually does, the log is the evidence rather than a reconstruction.

Money and state move together. With Stripe Connect I would use separate charges and transfers, funds held by the platform until fulfillment is confirmed, payout to the seller as its own event, with idempotency keys so a retry can never pay twice, and Stripe webhooks as the source of truth rather than the checkout redirect.

Reputation is computed, never stored and edited. Ratings attach only to completed transactions, so a score cannot be gamed by accounts that never transacted, and the aggregate is always derived from the underlying records.

Rate: 45 USD per hour, or fixed price per milestone once we have walked through your specification together, whichever you prefer. I include a 2 month guarantee on what I build.

Availability: I can start this week and stay involved as PeerRate grows, which is how most of my client relationships run, several now in their fourth year.

I am Edon, Top Rated Plus on Upwork with over 470,000 USD earned and 70+ five star reviews. Happy to sign an NDA before you share the specification, and to do a first screenshare of the app so you can judge how I work before committing.

Kind regards,
Edon Gjergji
