Like why do they hide them…
Why can i not find one place which shows me all custom states in my project…
Am I missing something or is this horrible user experience normal

Yea it’s a little weird you can’t just find all of them (or at least all of them on a given page)… I tried the app search tool at the top right but it doesn’t have an option for custom states. Maybe someone else knows…
You can select an element you think has states and press the ⓘ symbol at the top of the edit window and it shows you all the custom states
Very true. There are a few tips people have for helping custom states be more manageable.
put all your custom states on a single element. So that you at least know where the all are. Sometimes. I put them in the page, ie the highest level element
any element that has custom states on it - I capitalise it’s name so I have a hint in the tree which ones to inspect first
I use a naming convention to organise my custom states into clear groups as you can’t sort them - ie prefix into categories
There are likely more best practices also to help with managing custom states which other folks may hopefully add also. I don’t really feel I’ve “solved” their management yet.
these tips are pretty cool, I’ll try capitalising, could be a huge help . Thanks for sharing!
I used to put them in the page element but got pretty hard when i was trying to copy workflows and elements that relied on those states.
I now have a group that holds all my page states which i name #states. It’s easy to search for.
Very good point @ihsanzainal84
I always forget this, but on the “i” icon of an element in the editor, you will get that element’s states listed.
Annoying you can search the whole page of course.
