As we wrap up the year, we’re thrilled to bring you the Winter 2024 edition of Bubble Boosts! As a reminder, boosts are the tiny but mighty product updates. We prioritize them based on your feedback across the Ideaboard, the forum and customer support cases.
While this quarter’s set is a bit lighter, thanks to all the holidays here in the US — we focused on delivering impactful enhancements that improve your day-to-day workflow. Your feedback has once again guided us, ensuring each boost makes the time you spend in Bubble a bit more friction-free. So please keep them coming, either here, on social/X and by email.
From tweaks to the property editor to smarter default settings and better debugging tools, these updates continue our mission to make Bubble not just powerful but a fun to use. Here’s what’s new:
Highlights from winter 2024 boosts
- Property editor improvements:
- Better navigation for locked property editors: Easily scroll through all conditions, even in dense configurations.
- Default settings tuned for smoother design workflows: The “fit width to content” setting is now off by default for groups.
- Enhanced element tree:
- Visual clarity for layout types: Elements in rows or columns now display intuitive icons to identify their arrangement.
- Version control usability:
- No more lost popups! Draggable version control windows keep your merge conflicts manageable and visible.
- Dynamic customization:
- Placeholder colors in input fields can now be dynamic, unlocking new creative possibilities for your designs.
- Debugger:
- Enhanced calendar debugging: Calendar elements with “When a day is clicked” events now function seamlessly in the debugger, ensuring smoother testing of your workflows.
- Better data insights: The debugger now displays the count of list items, saving you time and helping you better understand your data during testing. In general, this our way to remind everyone to keep using the editor, this is a very important aspect of Bubble to learn the platform and build robust apps.
- Quality-of-life tweaks:
- Retain collaborator access on app transfers: You can now choose to remain a collaborators when transferring an app, enabling seamless handoffs for agency workflows.
- Improved 301 redirect handling with wildcard support
- Polished Domain/Email Settings UI: Fixed UI issues in the Domain and Email subtab for a cleaner and more seamless experience when managing your app settings.
- Prioritized Layout Options: Reordered the list of layout options to surface the most commonly used layouts first, making design workflows faster and more intuitive.
- Streamlined page and reusable element creation: Updated UI for the creation modals makes building new pages and reusable elements faster and more intuitive.
- Cleaner, clearer error logging for workflow termination issues

If we had to summarize this release in a word, it would be “precision.” These boosts are about refining the details — making interactions smoother, workflows simpler, and designs more intuitive. By focusing on these granular improvements, we want to help you create with fewer interruptions.
