I’ve attempted to use Bubble.io’s free Audio Recorder plug in, as well as two different purchased audio recorders and even with the help of AI, I have never been able to consistently find a way (workflow) that saves the audio file created in a way that I can store and access it attached to an individual in my database. Currently, any audio file recorded is being stored in the File Manager, but I am unaware of a way to write a workflow to “find” that file or move that file. What am I missing?
Generally there will be an event of something like “saving the file is complete” that tells you when an exposed state of the saved file url is available. (Which then tells you what the URL is to the saved file)
Wouldn’t’ that “even” indicator only occur if I wrote that in to the workflow, like a popup or something? I have not seen any indication in any of the plugins where there is any ability to save the file, nor let me know a task like that is complete.
Hi @drdalerichards ,
Thank you for reaching out!
For example, in the Audio Recorder Plugin for Bubble, you can easily store the file URL in your database, where the file type is set to “File.” I’ve attached a few screenshots for your reference to demonstrate how this can be achieved.
Could you please check if, in your case, you have access to the “audio recorder URL” or other similar states from the plugin? If you could share additional details about your setup, such as screenshots of your workflows or configurations, I’d be happy to provide more tailored guidance.
Looking forward to your reply!

Perhaps it is my set up and my process that is the issue. I have clients, users, and recordings as the data types. Clients are connected to specific users, and recordings (of those clients) would be connected to the individual clients. I simply am unable to come up with a workflow for a process whereby when the stop button (for the recorder) is clicked, a recording is saved to the client. I would even settle for simply saving the url of the file, but keep going round and round. I would show you my workflows, but I simply keep deleting them because I cannot put together the logic to make it work, sorry.
The only element actions are those included in the screenshot
Hi @drdalerichards ,
Thank you for sharing the details about your setup!
For your use case, you can simply store the audio recording URL in the database and associate it with the relevant user or client. I’ve attached a few screenshots as examples to help guide you through the setup. Please take a look and try implementing the steps shown.
This process involves using workflows to save the recording URL as part of the data structure, linking it to the appropriate client or user. If you’re encountering difficulties setting this up, the screenshots should clarify how to structure your workflows effectively.
