Android Chrome Compatibility Issue with Built-In Image Uploader

I’m encountering an issue with Bubble’s built-in image uploader on Android Chrome. Previously, the uploader provided the option to take a picture directly with the device’s camera, but now this option is missing, leaving only the choice to select from the photo gallery. This issue does not occur on other platforms—the uploader works as expected on iPhone (Safari and Chrome) and Android DuckDuckGo.

Details:

  • Browser/OS Affected: Android Chrome
  • Functionality: Missing option to access the camera directly. Only gallery selection is available.
  • Other Browsers Tested: Works on Safari, Chrome on iPhone, and DuckDuckGo on Android.
  • Previous Behavior: Camera access was available on Android Chrome until recently.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Verified permissions in Chrome, cleared cache, and confirmed the browser is up to date.
  2. Tested on different Android devices, all experiencing the same issue.
  3. Updated Bubble to the latest version, but the problem persists.
  4. Recreated the image uploader element, but no change.

If anyone else is experiencing similar behavior or has suggestions for additional troubleshooting, please let me know. Bubble team, any insights into possible updates that may have impacted this functionality would also be greatly appreciated.
