Anyone having issues with fixed width text just happening today?

Hey you guys,

I haven’t touched anything on my app and all of a sudden a lot of my text that is fixed with now is being displayed on two lines.

Text Fixed Width Issue

Anyone else having the same issue?

@eve, did Bubble change something to the responsive settings recently to break this?

Thanks!

No recent updates to the responsive engine, though we did push a change that impacted BBCode for text elements; if you’re seeing this in your application and haven’t already done so, please do submit a bug report with some specific times for when you noticed the change so that we can take a closer look!

Not exactly the same but maybe related. About a week ago text boxes with 2 lines of text suddenly had extra space between the lines. Checking the box cut off content solves this problem. Maybe it will solve yours. Good luck.

I’m having similar issues. They appear out of no where on chrome only. Safari still holds fixed widths fine. I will submit a bug report

UPDATE: Bug report was submitted with detailed video. This seems to be happening with more than just text elements for me. Inputs, icons, and text are all losing “fixed width” when I run my app in chrome.

Here’s an example.

In the editor you will see that the search icon and search input are in a fixed width group.

When I load the app in chrome it initially looks fine, until I shrink the size of the browser viewport. Even if I adjust it a little bit, the icon and the search box stack on top of each other. This happens even when the viewport is more than 1000px wide. The group above is 270px.

When I expand the viewport again it remains stacked.

I’ve made no changes to my app. And I use it regularly in chrome. This appeared out of nowhere.

@eve please help.

I found the issue on my end. It only happens when the browser is zoomed to 110% or zoomed out to 90%. Here’s an example of text and inputs at zoomed out to 90%.

If I zoom to 100%, 125%, or 150% it works perfectly.

Chrome seems to save zoom settings on any domain. even if you clear cache etc.
