Brand New to .bubble!

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all having a great Friday! I am brand new to .bubble, and I just started watching the courses provided through the bubble academy. I’ve been in business for 4 years now, and I’m now ready to build out my web app MVP. I’d love to hear any advice on the best way to learn bubble. Thanks!

Scour YouTube for Bubble beginner videos. Make sure they’re recent (within a couple years ideally) because changes to the platform have allowed us to build differently.

Then start building. Come to the forum and search for your questions, as there is a 99% chance someone has already asked and been answered.

Rinse, and repeat.

If you’re super stuck, grab a coach for an hour or two.

Hey there! Welcome to the Bubble community! It’s great to see your enthusiasm for building your web app MVP. Since you’re just starting, I recommend diving into the Bubble Academy courses and practicing as much as you can. Building small projects alongside the lessons can really help reinforce what you learn.

Also, don’t hesitate to reach out here with questions or for feedback on your progress. Good luck, and enjoy the journey!

Welcome! Build, build, build.

First, don’t build the app you ‘want’ to build (your ‘big idea’). Build something else you’re interested in to develop your skills. The first time will be awful. Rebuild it again, learning from your mistakes. Do it again.

Then, you’ll be ready to have a decent shot at the app you really want to build.

Only build things you’re interested in, and it won’t feel like work.

Best tip is to learn about workflow units, the difference between backend and front end workflows and how to build such that as minimum data operations are needed.

Just read the manual and search for these things on the forum.

It will teach you if Bubble is a good fit for your mvp and if so how to build.

I’m still learning Bubble myself.

I’ve found like others have mentioned, videos on YouTube have a ton of info that really helps. There’s so many by so many different people I couldn’t start to mention them all.

Also, I’ve found perplexity.ai to be extremely helpful. It’s my go-to for Bubbble. They do have a free edition that works quite well also. It does go off the rails at times and suggests things that don’t exist. You just have to prompt it until you get an answer that works with Bubble.

I know Bubble is working on AI. I do wish they would change their focus though on how they’re going about it.

Not sure having AI that can create a template is that helpful since the templates it creates are just components pulled from the component library and pieced together. It’s very easy to just use the library and quickly put together your own template.

I do wish they would incorporate AI the way a lot of platforms do now…wherever you can enter text there’s an icon that allows AI to rewrite it. Just a thought. Not that I use AI a whole lot to write content, but it can spark creativity and suggest good ideas.

Anyway, good luck with your learning. The forum has a lot of smart people on it also and I’ve learned a ton from it.
