Bubble editor is so slow, unworkable :(

same here, so slow…have to reload every 15 - 20 minutes.

Yep, I’ve just cancelled some of my plugins and moving over to https://dittofi.com for next project… am so annoyed, feel like a waste of a year because now I am stuck unable to code. No word from Bubble support, they should be jumping into this chat immediately.

I haven’t been doing much work in Bubble lately, but I’ve had the editor crash twice today due to running out of memory, something I’ve not experienced before.

Also, I have gutted the heck out of my app, my main page now only has a Header and 1 Group but the initial load is painfully slow.

I find that after working in bubble for several hours, I need to restart my computer to get it working more quickly again.

I’m the same, I like to have two editor windows open for backend workflows but then I find I have to restart every couple of hours.

Its barely working for me right now, so slow…

Well in the middle of testing my app stopped loading. thought I had lost connection but no, something was going on. https://status.bubble.io/

You’re lucky you are able to work on it … I wouldn’t mind if I could do a solid 30 mins work before restarting but I get about 5 mins in and it’s ground to a halt. Today has been crashing so much I have just wasted the day basically. If I hadn’t developed my site so much I wouldn’t be gone in a flash.

Yea, I’ve noticed a huge slowdown lately too. I figured it was just my app becoming really complex but I figure it can’t be THAT bad. I’m also unable to click into the workload usage pie to see what is actually using WU, which is obviously not great since it’s now being used and people rely on that to know what they are being charged. (I take it back, WU pie seems to be working now)

I am wondering if any of us with slow editor issue are on the new scalable plans? I am suspecting those who haven’t changed might all be lumped into a single instance to battle things out, forcing us to upgrade or not. I don’t want to upgrade to only find things are still unworkable though. Where’s the tin foil hat emoji?

I too was having some problems but a full and complete cache clear seems to have resolved it for the most part

That’s good. For me that didn’t work. I was even advised to buy a new laptop from support, but that didn’t work either. Over the last 12 months I’ve tried everything :frowning:

Good point. For me the issue is historic, simply put Bubble has been slow for me for a year. However, you may be onto something. I wish Bubble could tell us.

What is this WU pie?

In logs.

This is an example of a condition with 3 inputs, this took me 22 minutes to do. Each right-click takes several minutes to load, then when I select the condition to add it takes 5 mins. Will Bubble refund me for lost time? I am going to email them now.

That is completely unworkable! You much be extremely patient

Are you guys using Safari by any chance?

No, I’ve tried Chrome, edge and Firefox. Chrome seems to be the “fastest”, but even then it’s very slow.

I wanted to add my own experience, not that it’s any help, but to give some perspective - I’ve only been bubbling for 18 months, on a single app, and it’s not very complex (yet). I exclusively use Chrome, and I use 2 Macbook Ms. One is the original M1 with only 8GB of ram - which for all purposes, even Youtube can drag to a crawl cause 8G was never enough for that processor…and yet Bubble performs just fine! And I of course have no issues with my M2 / 32gb. So I’m curious if it has more to do with how complex your app(s) are, and how long you’ve been bubbling, there might be a lot of legacy code that’s not as efficient leftover? Just thinking out loud. Cause it does sound bad and I’m hoping for your sakes it can be made better!
