Bubble design drag n drop is getting worse every version. I don’t like this whole overlay and layer thing y’all got going on. It’s annoying. I can’t simply drag and drop elements into a group or a floating group. I can’t adjust the position via drag and drop. Everything just has to be be technical. It makes visual learning difficult.
You can adjust with drag and drop if you have fixed layout. You should watch some tutorial about new responsive layout that is a lot better.

I understand your frustration, but drag and drop is not the best option to create good projects, especially when we talk responsiveness. I recommend that you study the models for columns and rows, after getting used to it you are created with more agility and better quality than you currently do

Try dragging and dropping directly into the element tree. Does that help at all?

I always thought it worked pretty much as intended for responsive design depending on how you have your group set up…
but, as was mentioned, if you want granular control, just slide it up into the element tree instead of sliding it into a group on the page
