Is there a way to print from preview rather than to download the pdf. I want to be able to print without downloading first .
Hello, @Rob_07!
Apologies for the late reply!
Please let me clarify the details about the plugin’s actions.
The plugin “Page to PDF converter” doesn’t show “Preview” page, doesn’t have a pause before conversion, and doesn’t have a Print option. But please allow me to suggest you the solution in this case:
So you can replace the Preview option with these actions, and the convertible file PDF will be not downloaded automatically.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the reply. This is how it’s been set up.
However my question was whether the user needs to download the pdf before printing it, and you confirmed that this is the case.
So just to clarify, there’s no way for the pdf to be printed before it is downloaded?
Hi, @Rob_07!
I’m afraid, no. The plugin can convert to PDF the page and you can choose either to download the converted result or not. But, if I understand your use case correctly, I can suggest one more workaround.
If you are using some plugin for printing documents/URLs in your Bubble app, you can do the following:
Thus, you will convert the page to PDF using our plugin and will be able to use the side print action to print the result of the conversion, without the need to download the document.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for your reply. I’m newish to this, so how would I pause the workflow and add the print pdf action. Would I call up the saved pdf from AWS?
@Rob_07, sorry for the late reply
To pause the workflow, you can add the “Add a pause before the next action” action. The print action can be achieved by some plugin, designed for printing pages/URLs or files.
Yes, I presume. I would like to suggest to you our plugin that could do this job but, unfortunately, we have no plugins that can print a document from the user’s own AWS bucket or Bubble AWS.
Just to sum up - our Page to PDF plugin is dedicated to converting an existing Bubble page to a PDF document. It is not able to send this document to the printer and print it out. You can control whether to allow the result PDF file downloading or not; save the converted PDF file into the Bubble database or the application File Manager.
In case if you have more questions - please let us know.

When I create a PDF using your plug in and check the button to upload the file to AWS. I can download the generated pdf as a pdf but when I check in the database, it has save a file but not as pdf but rather extension .file
Hi @Rob_07!
Thank you for reaching out!
By default, the plugin returns the converted file URL which is a text, not a file.
If you go to the Data → File Manager, and in the “File Type” dropdown choose Application/PDF and click on the .file - it will open a new tab with a preview of your PDF.
If you want to save the converted pdf files from the Bubble database, you need to take the following steps:
Save the files to the database (by checking the Upload to AWS checkbox).
Display the data from the database on your page (using repeating groups).
Create a button within the repeating group that would save the file. Please note you will need to install the File Downloader Plugin | Bubble.

Thank you for your response. I want to be able to NOT download the pdf but rather just view the saved pdf file in the browser without first downloading it. But as you can see when I save the pdf url as you instructed or look for it in the file manager it’s only ever a .file extension and not a .pdf which is viewable in the browser.
Hi @Rob_07!
If you want the PDF file to be viewed (in a new window) rather than automatically saved, please see the workflow setup below:
In your current workflow of the Convert button, uncheck the “Autosave” checkbox and leave the “Save to AWS” checkbox intact:
Add another event in the workflow “When ConvertortoPDFv2.0 A uploading to AWS is finished” and make sure to set it up to open a new window where the URL is the convertor’s output URL:
Also, since all PDFs are automatically saved in the database, you can always access them (open them in a new window) by clicking on the file(s) directly in the File Manager
Let us know if this helps.

Thanks for your response but I’m still having issues
This is my workflow, but it doesn’t work.
But when the file is saved to the DB is it not a .pdf but a .file extension, that looks like this when I download it
I really need to get this working as it’s a big part of my app.
Thanks
Hi @Rob_07!
Can you please add our Support Team email to the list of collaborators to your application and provide us a link to your application? This will allow our team to check your settings and run some tests to fix the mentioned problem.
To add our Support Team as a collaborator, you need to do the following steps in the Bubble Editor: Settings > Collaboration > Add email support@zeroqode.com
Note: avoid the warning message regarding the plan, as we are an agency and you can easily add us to your collaborators.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Zeroqode Support Team
I’ve now added you as collaborator
Hello, @Rob_07.
Thank you for adding us to the list of your collaborators.
The reason why the plugin was not working as you were expecting, is because you have not set the “yes” value in the plugin element, in the File uploads enabled field:
We have changed a bit your case page, now the PDF button works as expected.
Please check

I did all these steps, and still the output file URL is not added to the data base that I created as per the instructions call ‘pdf_files’ and there are no folders in the file manager.
