I agree this should be open to anyone who started building once the beta went officially live on 6/10. Why exclude those who were eager and jumped in once the official beta was available. It’s only 7 additional days. Next time I guess we should wait.

I think this is a cool concept. I love it. But… I won’t participate because:
- I started playing around with mobile in BETA to get a jump on learning and to see if was robust enough to move off of BDK for our main application. So I wouldn’t qualify with the app I’ve been toying with.
- There isn’t any capability to add monthly subscriptions to apps yet. I’m waiting for this. I know it’s on the shortlist, but there’s no way I can justify the costs of building and releasing an app without the ability to cover costs with subscriptions through the App Store. (Yes, I know in the US you can do one link to a payment page on the web, but this isn’t ideal).
- I don’t have that many good ideas - I have 2-3 or three great ones, and only the time and resources to build those (barely). I can’t spend the time to make something half-baked for a contest.
And yet with all the negatives you mentioned…
someone will win the prize money because they didn’t focus on those negatives.
In the business world, you need to move fast and break things to get ahead.
I think it’s a good contest.
It will show what can be done with Bubble in a short time.

Well… I did preface my post with the fact that I think it’s a good concept and I love it. And, of course they will, and that’s great.
But there’s still a bunch of key features that need to get added to mobile and there’s a number of slightly early adopters who look like they’re going to get left out. Which is all fine…. just not as good as it could have been.
Hopefully Bubble will come up with more ways to participate and showcase cool projects (even without big monetary prizes.)

Great! I am finalizing my mobile app that will work as a complement to my web app. Now I am trying to publish it on iOS and Android to test them. It is not easy to do this.

I wanted to participate in this Bubble initiative with the MOBILE application,
But I’m still stuck in a situation where Bubble itself transforms a RELATIONAL “Correct Page” with an external Backend. This function has existed in BUBBLE for years. It is already possible to configure it in the GROUP and in the Repeater group with an external Backend. However, to confirm a personalized “url” of a “Correct Page”, Bubble only allows you to configure it with its own Backend…
When I found out that you were going to launch the native application within Bubble itself, I was very HAPPY…
it was the trigger I needed…
When I heard “ELON MUSK” saying that he would pay 44 BI on Twitter to transform “X” into a platform for everything, I thought that this concept already exists and was created in Bubble…
I only turned it OFF right after Bubble changed its policy… and since even initially the projection was for a high flow of simultaneous users and with the new prices, it was unfeasible to plan a launch to validate the idea…
This gymkhana is going to be great, the best of Bubble…
