I’m very excited to share with you all that Bubble for native mobile apps is now in public beta. That means that, starting today, there’s no more waitlist. Anyone can build iOS and Android apps on Bubble!
We’ll share more at our livestream event this afternoon, but I want to take a moment to celebrate that the wait is finally over!
A major milestone for Bubble and for the community
This is a huge step toward fulfilling our founding vision of enabling anyone to create software. That vision is also why we’re releasing these features while they’re still in beta. We recognize that not everything is perfect yet, but we think that leaning in to the build in public approach means that more of you will be able to start building.
I want to thank our early testers who have already created some really impressive apps. You’ll get to see some of their work in the livestream today.
Join our livesteam event today at 12 PM ET. @Josh and I will be joined by Mobile PM @nick.carroll. We’ll share the roadmap and answer your questions in a live Q&A. Sign up here.
Start building! We want to see what you create (tag us on social @Bubble with #BuiltWithBubble). Your feedback will help us continue building the features you need.
Thanks as always for all of your support. See you later today at the launch event!
@emmanuel Actually when we try to login in BubbleGO, there’s no option for google auth like web editor. Possible to add this login option? (This should be a reusable element no? )
Umm is everyone ok with pricing doubling for access to Mobile? Like wtf? I don’t really get it, so do we only get charged the new pricing model for “NEW” apps we create after October 1? Or will all apps be altered?
I’ve tried to make sense of the pricing, but honestly — I still don’t get it lol.
Honestly, this made my decision pretty easy and no-brainer. I’m going all-in on the other platform. It’s more affordable, well-established, and it actually lets you export your code. Imagine that.
Great job Bubble, you’re doing an incredible job. We value the features you bring to us and the work you’re doing to make our lives easier, and make our visions come to reality bringing value to us but also making sure it makes sense for you to keep doing it.
Just noticed the significant increase in the Growth and Team plan for mobile. Hopefully Bubble irons it all out so everybody is happy
Thanks, I’ll look at the pricing more closely. I won’t name the platform here, out of respect for Bubble.
One of my sites is on Team plan, so adding mobile would be an additional $200/month. Furthermore, vendor lock-in worries me a lot.
Just to be clear, I love Bubble and it has been incredibly helpful in getting our web apps off the ground. I still run several web apps on it, and I truly wish the team continued success!
I agreed with your unedited version aha you should have left it. My quam is with their justification of $42 a month for a product that they’ve built in a year, versus $29 a month for their web service which they’ve been building for over a decade. I understand that mobile sits ontop of their entire infrastructure so it isn’t just what they’ve built over a year that your paying for, but If we say that their base infrastructure is worth something like $20 a month, then they’re saying that the Mobile Builder is worth an additional $22 a month compared to the web editor being worth only $9 a month. This doesn’t make sense to me especially with their web product is so much more complete and polished. The mobile has great potential but it’s capabilities will take years to match their web builder. I have been developing as a beta tester on Mobile for over 2 months, I love it, but their pricing isn’t justified.
This is an incredible development and offers a massive increase in value to businesses and enthusiasts building on bubble. I understand some of the comments above, but I think they’re ignoring the foundations mobile is built on, and the speed of which this is evolving. I don’t need an app for my projects but if I did, I wouldn’t see myself getting vendor lock-in, instead I’d see myself as part of a vendor partnership to get ideas launched faster, and better, than ever.
What pricing are you all comparing to? It will be great if you all shared some data so others can also consider these alternatives.
Have you tried doing your own costings to get one off the ground yourselves? I did… and labor costs (time or/and manpower, depending if you’re a lean startup or not) make Bubble a much better value.
These arguments have also been had with Bubble’s web apps plenty of times too. Same points apply.
I mean its still in Beta with (apparently) some way to go, in amongst whatever bugs require fixing along the way…I hardly doubt resources are going to taper off on this, quite the opposite, so I imagine focus on AI and core platform are only going to diminish further. Can only spread the workforce so far?
