Hello all,
This is a newbie question, so bear with me!
I am almost done with my MVP, but struggling with one of the pages which is designed to be a marketplace. I am not happy with my design and I am tempted to buy one of the templates, just to get the MVP out and not waste any more time.
My question is: if I buy one of the marketplace templates, can I use it inside my app as a page? The marketplace is just one feature of the app, there are many more pages I have built and would like to keep - can I just ‘insert’ the template as one of my pages?
Thanks!
Sonali
Templates can only be applied to a new app when creating the app.
It is possible to ‘copy’ all elements from a page in a template (including the workflows) and paste them into your existing app, but that will almost certainly raise many issues (dozens, or even hundreds) as the data structure between the two apps wont match, so workflows and pages wont make any sense.
It’s possible, but very time consuming, to fix such issues to make it work if you really know what you’re doing but, in my experience, nine times out of ten it’s probably quicker and easier to start from scratch.
A good solution is to use the template as ‘inspiration’ to see how it’s done, then rebuild the data structure, UX/UI and functionality into your own app.
That said, it does depend on the app and the template, how complex they are, and whether you’re copying the workflows and functionality as well as the page elements, or just the page elements themselves, as to how much work will be required to make it all work, but at the very least there will be some work to do.

Thank you @adamhholmes for the detailed response. It looks like it is not possible to clone a template to a page, and I get it why it will be a nightmare to integrate the data structure and workflows.
I will just go with my build and perhaps make some UI/UX changes based on the template.
