Customising Map Icons

Hi! Sorry if this has been asked before.

I’d like to use different customised icons for maps (eg I’d like the map to show restaurants etc with their own icons) and the only way I know how to do this is by adding an icon field to all locations, but then I’d have to add the icon every time.

What would you do if you didn’t want to have to add the restaurant icon every time you made a new restaurant? Is there a way to set it up so that any time you make a new location with the location type “restaurant”, it automatically uses the restaurant map icon?

In your Data Types:
Add default value.

Or create a page where you add restaurants. And in your “Create new thing” workflow you add a default icon.

Thank you! I’ve asked this question on another thread as well, but what if you wanted to have restaurants and hotels? You could set the default marker to the restaurant marker, but that still means you’d have to put in all the hotel markers by hand - or is there another way around this?

Add the icons via the workflow(s) that creates the restaurant and hotel.
