Data conversion challenge- going from text to date field

I have been trying to find a solution for what should be simple issue… I have a table with 900 records, I want to convert a text field which contains date information (mmm/dd/yyyy) to a date field. I though I could simply create a workflow to copy content from text field date field (update a list of things). That doesn’t work - I get error message because of the difference in field types. I can export the data and fix it outside of Bubble. But I know there is a workflow solution that I am over looking. Any suggestions?

Convert text to date

I wish to extract 3 numbers from different positions in a string and use these to form a date. Using combinations of truncate and truncate to I can extract the numbers, but I am sure there must be a more elegant way to do this. Previous suggestion was to use “Extract with regex”, which requires me to learn the rather arcane regex conventions, so I am sticking with truncate for now… My real problem is how to convert these extracted numbers to a date which I can then display as the initial conten…
