Since yesterday morning, database performance has slowed considerably. Rendering a list of 10 items in a RG from a list field in the DB takes 20 seconds, when it used to be 1 to 2 seconds until last week. Anything to do with reading from the DB has slowed down. No new updates, no change in DB structure.
Filed a bug report with bubble support, and their investigation is ongoing.
Just curious - is anyone else experiencing something similar? Any and all thoughts welcome.
@pierre6 - our issue also seems to be related to a single data type, even though it is not our largest and only has 1,000 entries. To overcome capacity throttling, we upgraded our plan to Growth (it would automatically upgrade on Oct 1 anyway) but that didn’t help either.
Same here, added a few capacity units to the app, made a few optimisation which reduced WU but those capacity spikes and the app overall slowness is still the same.
Currently waiting for a response from Bubble support.
We are experiencing performance issues too. Just logged a bug report. In our case, it’s not data coming from the DB though, but instead all the data is via API’s. There is no degradation in the API performance (verified via POSTMAN).
One thing I have observed is that static.js & dynamic.js takes a long time to load - Not sure if you are seeing something similar - and hence we are seeing a blank page for a while before the actual API data becomes visible.
Thank you @jagdish_bajaj for lifting this up right away. I hope that the recent update on https://status.bubble.io/ is related and there is a swift recovery ahead.
It looks like the database issue reported on the Status page at 11:20ET today was related to performance.
Now the Status page shows that the issue has been resolved but my client’s app is still experiencing the same slow performance that started on Monday. It is starting to wear those folks down since their business operation is severely impacted.
I’ve been in contact with support but they haven’t provided any solutions. Going on 4 days and haven’t had any users actively using our site because of how slow it is.
Out of curiosity, is anyone else running on workload overages at the moment? As in, have you expended your workload credits for this month?
The app I refer to in this thread was on a legacy plan. When we first encountered the performance issue on Monday, I figured we can upgrade it to the Growth plan (it would have happened on Oct 1 anyway). My guess was that we were being throttled by the legacy plan but that was incorrect. Performance hasn’t improved even with the new Growth WU-based plan.
On legacy plan too.
WU for the week are pretty much inline with the rest of the month, however server capacity has huge spikes.
The searches, and WF that are consuming a large amount of WU are not the same that the ones consuming a large amount of capacity.
For us also, WU is in line (more or less) with the rest of the month. On the day the problem started (Monday 22 Sep) WU was a bit higher but Mondays are like that, due to start of the week traffic.
Has anyone who filed a bug report heard back from bubble support?
