Exactly when is Native Mobile App development coming to bubble?

Hey bubble team! We’re eagerly waiting for the Mobile App Development update that was mentioned in Bubble Con. Since I have my own web app on bubble, I want to build the same as a mobile application. Please let us know! @josh

Good luck getting a specific timeframe. The plan is currently 4th quarter I think to release the first public beta.

hey @rakshitkumar90

Unfortunately I don’t have an exact date to give you, but the team behind this said internal testing is going great.

They also said you should sign up here: Mobile Apps | Bubble (if you haven’t already) to get invited into the beta release coming in the next few months

I’m down for a sweepstake with anyone here, but I’m betting 2024 Q4 beta release, and 2025 Q4 useable (but still inferior to mobile-first tools like FlutterFlow, but that’s to be expected given Bubble is designed for webapps).

Don’t hold your breath. If mobile is your priority, Bubble is not for you. Bubble is really good for web apps - that’s what it’s made for.

Yeah that smart money is on the over for those timetables (I’ll join you on the over if anyone wants the under :)).

The bigger question to me, at least, is what the heck does Native Mobile App mean? Bubble has been very tight lipped about it in terms of specifics, and which leads to the conclusion that it’s just a wrapper…

I’d think that it can’t possibly take a year to make a app wrapper but who knows? :person_shrugging: ?

Will bubble native app have plugin system? Aka can I create paid plugins for bubble native?

Happy new year 2025. But the question remains on the release of “Native” mobile app development?

Any no-code mobile apps that Bubble devs can easily transition too? Want to stay away from a steep learning curve for now!

Been on the beta list for 9 or 10 months now, and haven’t heard anything yet, not even an email about progress.

From what I understand, native doesn’t yet have plugin functionality, so it will be useless to many of us until it gets plugin support AND the plugins we use make a unique native version (if I understand that part correctly from a recent Bubble forum post).

All that to say, I wouldn’t hold your breath. It could be a few months away or more than a year. Who knows.

that’s absolutely insane. I can’t imagine what bubble apps are complex enough to be native apps, but don’t need access to any third party plugins
