How is the native app editor progressing?

Hey guys,
How is the bubble editor evolving for native apps?
Is the start of testing confirmed in mid-2024?

Not at all

I’m sure it’ll be released beta in Q4, but it won’t be useable until the same time the following year. That’s speculation but I think most of us agree with something along those lines.

If mobile native is really really important to you Bubble is not and never will be the right platform - explore FlutterFlow. I’m sure Bubble will at some point get a fairly decent native integration but it’ll never match builders that were built specifically for mobile native.

Have they opened it up to private beta testers yet or testers at all?

Do you not expect Bubble to ship a webview wrapped app?

E.g.: something build on Cordova or similar tech.

a wrapper is super easy to do without Bubble. Bubble’s big reveal at BubbleCon was that they were making some sort of mechanism (details not provided) for creating native apps on Bubble (as part of one’s app, separately).

Link is timestamped to the mobile app part.

I’m watching this. I don’t see anything that indicates this anything more than what Cordova technology offers.

Have you heard anything else? I’m totally fine with some hybrid webview wrapper thing if Bubble abstracts away the annoying parts. To me, it sounds like that’s the direction they are going.

I am/was under the impression that it wasnt a wrapper. However the link you shared seems to almost be intentionally vauge to imply its a true native app but still leaving enough wiggle room to just be a wrapper.

“Totally fine with a hybrid app” even if it takes 18 months of dev while neglecting nearly everything else?

Haha good point.

Not totally fine with the timeline. But for the technical part, I’m good with it. I hope they don’t over complicate it.
